Biographical Sketch 
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1983 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Successfully completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 1987. Successfully passed the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Boards of The American Board of Pathology in 1987. Successfully completed a fellowship in Forensic Pathology at the Dade County (Miami), Florida Medical Examiner's Office in 1988. Successfully passed the Forensic Pathology Boards of The American Board of Pathology in 1988. Accepted position at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, division of Forensic Pathology, in 1988.

Research/Clinical Interest
I am interested in the problem of accurate dating of injuries. A forensic pathologist is frequently asked by interested parties to provide an opinion as to the age of a wound. However, there exists relatively little information in the literature concerning this problem.
