Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Benjamin Wei is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Wei specializes in robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, surgery for gastro esophageal reflux disease, paraesophageal hernias, and also esophageal motility disorders. His other areas of expertise include chest wall reconstruction for pectus excavatum/carinatum, and lung transplantation. Dr. Wei has a particular interest in surgical education. He has helped develop multiple resources for cardiothoracic and surgical trainees, including leading a general surgery oral board review book and the Thoracic Surgery Residents Association (TSR) Journal Club app. Dr. Wei directs the didactic experience for UAB residents and medical students in general thoracic surgery.
