Biographical Sketch
As a clinician, educator, and administrator my desire for a diverse, challenging, and rewarding job is satisfied as I shape the career development of many young professionals. All three areas overlap significantly and unify in guiding philosophies developed over the last 14 years which continue to ignite my enthusiasm and passion for success. However, as Yogi Berra once noted, “You can observe a lot just by watching.” Rather than an entire collection of state of the art innovations, my philosophy is a rearrangement, adjustment, and revitalization of the work of those I have encountered; augmented by innovations of my own; and tempered by the feedback of my colleagues and learners.

Research/Clinical Interest
Title
Description
As the medical training environment continues to evolve, I am interested in the use of educational theory, adult-learning techniques, simulation, and outcomes-based improvements as applied to our traditional process-based residency programs. Further, as graduate medical educational strategies (supervision, duty-hour, requirements) change, I seek to document the success or failure of particular interventions.
