Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Fanucchi was raised in Minnesota and received her Bachelor of Arts from the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN. She received her PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of California at Davis. Her research mentor was Dr. Charles G. Plopper and her dissertation was titled "Naphthalene Cytotoxicity in Immature Clara Cells". Dr. Fanucchi then became a postdoctoral fellow in Environmental and Toxicologic Pathology with Dr. Jack R. Harkema at Michigan State University. She moved back to California to join the faculty of the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California at Davis. In 2007, Dr. Fanucchi joined the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Description
Childhood lung disease and its etiology. Pulmonary cell biology and toxicology of air polutants, including particulates, ozone, chlorine and various polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Cell-to-cell interactions in the developing lung as well as in repair after lung injury and disease in children.
