Biographical Sketch 
Samuel T. Windham, III, M.D. joined the faculty of the UAB Department of Surgery's Division of Trauma, Burns and Surgical Critical Care in 2001. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit). He is involved with teaching in the S.O.M. as well as being an ATLS Instructor. He was given the Argus Award for Teaching Excellence in 1998. His clinical and research interests include: Trauma systems development and integration, pre-hospital notification and injury prediction, blunt or penetrating trauma, vacuum assisted wound closure and tracheostomy.
