Biographical Sketch 
Artemus J. Cox, III, M.D. joined the faculty at UAB in 1999. He also is the Chief of Otolaryngology at the VA hospital, and at the Callahan Eye Foundation. Dr. Cox has participated in educational activities both in the Medical School and in the Division of Otolaryngology. In recognition of his excellence in teaching he was given the Argus Award by the School of Medicine in 2003. Dr. Cox has been a published researcher throughout his career. He has been the first author or senior author on 8 publications. He has also given a number of very important presentations at local, national, and international meetings. Dr. Art Cox is a board certified facial plastic surgeon who has been performing cosmetic surgery for over a decade in the Birmingham area with extensive experience in nasal and ear reconstruction after cancer surgery trauma. Furthermore, Dr. Cox offers a wide array of cosmetic procedures including injectable agents and surgical rejuvenation procedures. He also takes care of the bulk of facial trauma in the Division.
