Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Virginia S. Strickland is an Assistant Professor for the UAB Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Burns and Surgical Critical Care. She joined the faculty in 2012 upon completing a General Surgery Residency with UAB. Dr. Strickland also serves as the Chief of General Surgery for the VA Hospital. Clinically she performs a broad range of General Surgery and Critical Care procedures. She is involved in administrative capacities with the VA and has teaching responsibilities with the School of Medicine Clerkship Program.
