Cancer Genetics
Our research interests focus on the cancer genetics and molecular epidemiology involved in prostate cancer and breast cancer. Our recent research showed that the somatic genetic alterations in a novel tumor suppressor gene FOXP3 with a single-hit mechanism have an important impact on developing both breast cancer and prostate cancer. We are going to investigate the molecular mechanisms of tumor development and progression in multiple signaling pathways. Our current projects include 1) identifying the cancer-causing genes, targets, and pathways; 2) determining the genetic mechanism of tumor invasion and metastasis; 3) establishing the principle of tumor suppressors relay between FOXP3 and noncoding RNA; 4) developing human-like animal models of prostate cancer.
