Course Description This is a hands-on learning experience in a Teaching Kitchen. It will be a fun, tasty, and enriching introduction to Lifestyle Medicine with an emphasis on evidence-based food choices. When you complete this course, you will be familiar with a set of skills that will greatly enhance your care for patients and lengthen and envigorate your own career. You will learn about brain chemistry and techniques that help overcome it in pursuit of change. We will practice these techniques in small groups. In the end, you will be empowered to apply these techniques with your future patients. Come hungry!! We will prepare 2 meals together every day, starting with a quick breakfast, and ending with a more elaborate lunch. The goal is for you to be confident that, with the right skills and equipment, you can efficiently make yourself healthy meals that can better sustain your career and your health. Come as a teacher. You will be the group's expert on the knife skills used for preparing specific fruits and/or vegetables. You will be provided with videos about these techniques. After viewing the video, you will demonstrate these techniques to the group.
Where To Report Baptist Resource Building, Teaching Kitchen, from 9 am - 2 pm
Requirements Give a very brief presentation about the optimal techniques for using knives to prepare the fruits and vegetables assigned to you.

Demonstrate ability to use basic kitchen tools and appliances safely

Set a goal and make progress toward that goal. Help a colleague do the same.

Actively help make this course a positive experience for yourself, your colleagues, and future participants.
Evaluation Achieve a passing score on simple quizzes that will be designed to reenforce the important learning points.
