Course Description
The objectives of this AI are to provide medical students with an advanced level of Family Medicine experience and to improve the student's ability to perform complete histories, focused physical exams, develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans for the wide range of clinical problems encountered in FM clinic. The primary focus is the outpatient evaluation and treatment of patients representing many undifferentiated illnesses. Students will be assigned to faculty preceptors to see a wide variety of patients in a busy outpatient clinic and will be given the opprotunity to care for the patient from start to finish.

Requirements
Attend FM clinic with faculty as scheduled.
See patients, obtain history, perform physical exam, develop problem list and differential diatnosis as indicated, order/plan treatment course for the diagnosis, followup on results and complete note documentation in a timely manner
Read on assigned topics during independent study and be ready for discussion during faculty-led didactic sessions. Didactic sessions may also include hands on experiences for procedure training.
Evaluation
Final review performed by supervising faculty. Evaluations completed by assigned faculty and based upon the pass-fail system within medhub.
Notes
