Successful completion of Pediatrics AND either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Clerkships.
Specific Clerkship Prerequisites: Pediatrics, Medicine, Family Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Psychiatry, Surgery

Course Description
This course offers the student an opportunity to participate in comprehensive healthcare to adolescents. Activities include clinical experiences in adolescent primary care, reproductive health, mental health, pediatric and adolescent obesity, eating disorders, and medical care in the juvenile justice system. Supervision and guidance is provided by physicians, social workers, dietitians, psychologists, and nurses specifically trained to care for adolescents. This interdisciplinary approach exposes the student to a broad spectrum of issues in adolescent health.
Where To Report
Students will receive an email from the division prior to the 1st day. You will be asked to report to the Children of Alabama Adolescent Health Center or Office of Division of Adolescent Medicine, Children’s Park Place 310, Park Place 1600 5th Avenue South on the first day.
Requirements
The student is expected to work on the service Monday through Friday. There is no required night call or weekend rounding.
Evaluation
Pass/Fail based upon observation of the student, case presenations, and case discussions.
