Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Gutierrez completed his MD degree at Catholic University of Chile School of Medicine in Santiago, where he also served a pediatric residency. Additionally, he completed a pediatric residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

He served his pediatric pulmonary fellowship at UAB and Children’s Hospital, followed by a faculty appointment as assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and as director of the Bronchoscopy Laboratory at Children’s Hospital.
