Dr. E. George Salter, Professor of Cell Biology (b. 1943), received his undergraduate training at Auburn University (B.S. biology, 1965) and received an M.S. (1968), and a Ph.D. (1970) from UAB. He served as an Assistant Professor at Georgia State University (1970 to 1972) and the University of South Florida College of Medicine (1972 to 1976) and an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine (1976 to 1978) before joining the UAB faculty. Dr. Salter was an Associate Professor from 1978 to 1988 and is currently a Professor in the Department of Cell Biology (1988 to present). Dr. Salter was appointed as the Director of the Division of Anatomy from 1990 and 1994. His main focus is the advancement of the teaching of clinically applied gross anatomy to medical students and to physicians in continuing education. |
