Title
The interaction of human genome, the microbiome, and environmental factors in the cause, progression and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases
Description
The Payami lab is working towards understanding the interaction between human genome, the gut microbiome, and environmental exposure – the goal being to predict who is at risk and what they should avoid to prevent the disease; and also the interactions that determine efficacy and toxicity of drugs – so that treatment can be personalized for maximum benefit for each individual.
