Biographical Sketch 
A native of Alabama, Dr. Russell spent 8 years in Cincinnati, first completing his Internal Medicine & Pediatrics training and then working as a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He returned to UAB in 2007, where he works at a Med-Peds primary care practice at UAB Leeds as well as attending on wards at both University Hospital and Children's of Alabama.

Dr. Russell has a passion for streamlining communication with patients, families, and learners by teaching at the bedside. Using a combination of modern technology for learners and time-tested techniques of the physical exam, he has focused his academic interests on improving physical exam skills of trainees at the bedside.
