Biographical Sketch 
A graduate of Auburn University and the University of Miami School of Medicine, Dr. Smith completed an anesthesiology residency at UAB and then joined the faculty in 1997. As assistant professor in the UAB Department of Anesthesiology and director of The Kirklin Clinic® (TKC) outpatient anesthesia, he served on the Resident Selection Committee, Clinical Competence Committee, Department Executive Committee, TKC Operating Room Committee, and TKC Clinical Practice Committee.
