Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Speicher is a thoracic surgeon at Huntsville Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UAB School of Medicine’s Huntsville Regional Medical Campus. He specializes in minimally-invasive, VATS, and robotic chest surgery. Dr. Speicher attended medical school at Northwestern, and then spent the next nine years at Duke for both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery training. While at Duke, he also earned a Master’s degree in biostatistics and clinical research through the NIH. He has published more than 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals, authored 7 book chapters, and serves as a reviewer for all three premier cardiothoracic surgery journals.
