Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Kim is a cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, Section of General Cardiology, Prevention, and Imaging at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Kim is a non-invasive cardiologist with expertise in advance echocardiography including transesophageal echocardiogram, preventive cardiology, and critical care in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Kim received his medical education from the Chung-Ang University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Kim completed Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Description
His research interest is in cardiovascular epidemiology, digital medicine, population health informatics and utilization of big data from various sources such as wearable devices, mobile phones and sensors, to promote cardiovascular health. He is passionate about the application of information technology and machine learning algorithms to impact cardiovascular disease prediction and risk factor modification. He aspires to be a cardiologist and researcher who can facilitate communications between specialties in cardiovascular big data research, so that we can practice team science to achieve better healthcare and prevent cardiovascular disease. He serves as an editorial board member of the npj (Nature Partner Journals) Digital Medicine.
