Course Description The Ambulatory Medicine rotation will provide learners with an opportunity to become skilled in the prevention, evaluation, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions commonly seen in the outpatient setting. The AI rotation will include outpatient visits for acute conditions and chronic disease management. Learners will also gain exposure to ambulatory coding and documentation.

Requirements Learners will manage patients in an outpatient clinic setting, focusing on continuity of care,
preventative medicine, chronic disease management, while actively participating in patient history taking, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up appointments under supervising attending guidance. Learners will also actively participate in the ambulatory didactic curriculum.
Evaluation Learners will be assessed daily by supervising attending based on demonstration of patient care
and history taking, treatment plan preparation, sensitivity and respect, proper case presentation
and recognition of acuity. An end of rotation question assessment will be included as part of the
determination.
