No LCME students accepted.
No osteopathic students accepted.
Course Description simulations, small-group discussions, and field experiences focusing on serving individuals experiencing homelessness and navigating complex social determinants of health. Students will apply concepts in real time-culminaing in a final presentation and optional hands-on volunteer experience at the EAB Street Medicine Clinic. The course emphasizes active participation, collaboration, and reflection to prepare students to lead effectively in underserved healthcare settings.

Requirements 1. Attend all scheduled sessions and course activities
2. Complete a final project which will be presented on Friday
Evaluation 1. Active participation in all course sessions and activities
2. Completion and presentaiton of a final project that demonstrates application of course concepts
3. Reflective self-assessment addressing leadership strengths, areas for growth, and understanding and social determinants of health
Notes A finalized schedule will be distributed to students at least one week before course start date. Please note that slight changes may occur based on the availability of guest speakers/workshop leaders.

Monday: (0800-1200) Introduction to Homelessness/Housing in partnership with Be a Blessing/One Roof, Overview of Final Project
Tuesday: (0800-1200) Leadership workship and guided self reflection
Wednesday: (0800-1200) Social determinants of health workshop, Advocacy panel and discussion Thursday: (0800-1200) Street Medicine in practice (Shufflebarger), Logistics of EAB Street Medicine (EAB student leader)
Friday: (0800-1200) Student final presentations on SDH, Course wrap up and Self evaluation

4th Saturday of the month: (0900-1200) Optional volunteer day at EAB Street Medicine Clinic-George Ward Park Location
