Course Description The Family Medicine Acting Internship (Al) rotation is intended to enhance the experience of the student in the field of family medicine and promote interest in primary care. The student will have a comprehensive learning experience incorporating the bio-psychosocial model of family medicine. The structure of this rotation is different from the third year family medicine clerkship in a way that it parallels the experience of being a family medicine resident. During this rotation, the student works in close proximity with family medicine residents and faculty members of the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program. The rotation is designed to provide the student with extensive hands-on experience in different settings including, but not limited to, office and hospital. The student will be expected to do H&Ps, progress notes, office notes, discharge summaries and play an integral role in the management of patients. The rotation will promote the procedural skills of the student in outpatient and inpatient settings
Where To Report Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program 7:45 a.m.
Requirements The student will be expected to attend the daily morning hospital didactic session with the residents during hospital rotation. Also, the student will attend the daily noon conference series. The student will follow the schedule of a first year resident in compliance with ACGME clinical and educational work hours.
Evaluation Pass/Fail; The final grade for the rotation (Pass or Fail) will be assigned by the course director. The course director will seek input from the senior residents and faculty physicians who worked with the student.
