Course Description This elective will provide an in-depth learning experience about disease stages common to inpatient Neurology using structured independent reading and daily hospital rounds. COURSE FORMAT: A. Structured outside reading B. Daily rounds with neurology hospitalist C. Problem-based learning sessions D. Brief presentation to faculty and neurology clerkship students LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The student will be able to evaluate, diagnose, and initiate a plan of treatment for common categories of disease states seen by neurology hospitalists and will have understanding of the pathophysiology of those disorders.

D. Weekly problem-based learning sessions
E. Case brief (10-40 min) presentation
Evaluation Pass/Fail based on personal observation by and interaction with the preceptor evaluating history, physical exam, and presentation skills, as well as discussion of assigned readings.
