Course Description The Family Medicine Elective is a four-week experience taken during the fourth year of medical school at the UASOM. All students, regardless of future specialty, will benefit from the way in which the acting internship builds upon concepts of integrated clinical medicine and broader aspects of patients lives first encountered in the third year clerkship. Additionally, the student interested in Family Medicine as a career will gain valuable clinical and educational experience, and will provide a solid base upon which to build a future in residency training and practice.
