Biographical Sketch 
Dr. William L. Holman is a Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UAB and the Chief of Surgical Services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Birmingham. He is an internationally recognized exper tin mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Holman is the past president of the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs. Dr. Holman has maintained a long time interst in resident education and currently serves as the Associate Director of the Cardiothoracic Residency Training Program.
