Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Brown is an associate professor and board certified cardiologist in the UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease, Director of Outpatient Services for the UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease, and Medical Director of The Kirklin Clinic Anticoagulation Clinic. In these roles, he has actively mentored several medical residents and cardiology fellows. In addition to these clinical responsibilities, he has obtained formal training in health services and outcomes research from UAB and actively contribute to multidisciplinary research teams as part of the Reasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke-Myocardial Infarction (REGARDS-MI) study as well as an observational research team studying cardiovascular disease, treatment, prevention, and outcomes funded by Amgen, Inc. Dr. Brown is also the UAB site PI for a randomized clinical trial studying the efficacy of Epanova in high risk patients with hypertriglyceridemia.
