Research/Clinical Interest
Title
Description
Dr. Fobian is interested in translational research which will inform her clinical practice. Her current research interests are focused in 2 areas: 1) The assessment of a cognitive behavioral treatment for non-epileptic seizures. She is beginning a randomized clinical trial assessing the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral treatment focused on the management of non-epileptic seizures vs. general stress management. 2) The behavioral factors associated with sleep and obesity, such as the effects of media use on sleep and the effects of sleep on obesity. She is working with the NORC to conduct a study assessing the effects of increased sleep duration in obese adolescents on both metabolic and weight outcomes.
