Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Li attended medical school at Wuhan University, School of Medicine, in China. She, then, travelled to Atlanta, GA, where she completed her Ph.D degree, which was followed by her postdoc training in the Department of Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In 2009, she became a research-track resident in the Department of Psychiatry at UAB. After residency, she was appointed as an assistant professor in July of 2013.

Mood Disorders, Opioids Dependence
Description
Clinical Interests: Mood Disorders with Metabolic Syndrome, Opioids Dependence. Dr. Li’s clinical specialization is adult patients with mood disorders, particularly in depressed patients with metabolic syndrome, and adult patients with opioids dependence. Research Interests: Dr. Li’s research is on the causes, prevention and treatments of depression comorbid with obesity, pre-diabetes and diabetes. She has a wide range of research activities, ranging from basic laboratory science to translational research linking lab to the clinic. She also is involved in several clinical trials as a sub-investigator to investigate new treatments for mood disorders.
