Biographical Sketch
Dr. White is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease. He received his doctoral training in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. White went on to pursue postdoctoral studies in the Vascular Biology and Hypertension training program situated in UAB’s Cardiology Division. He subsequently joined the faculty in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease in 1993. Dr. White has provided lectures in cardiovascular pharmacology and shock pathophysiology to both graduate and medical students, in addition to mentoring undergraduates, graduates, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows. Dr. White has published approximately 75 peer-reviewed manuscripts in top tier journals, such as Science, Circulation Research and Journal of Lipid Research. Dr. White is a Fellow of the American Heart Association Council for High Blood Pressure Research and the American Physiological Society Cardiovascular Section.
