Biographical Sketch 
Dr Rogers received his AB degree in Biochemistry from Princeton University and MD degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He did internal medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, served two years in the U. S. Army Medical Corps in Vietnam and in El Paso, Texas, and then completed a fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Alabama Medical Center in 1975. He has since remained at UAB, has been Professor of Medicine since 1984 and served as Director of the Coronary Care Unit at University of Alabama Hospital for 27 years. He has been Principal Investigator for UAB for many pivotal collaborative clinical trials in cardiology including CASS, CAST, SOLVD, HERS, WISE, WAVE and multiple TIMI trials. He has been active in patient care and selected by peers on the Best Doctors in America List annually for 15 years.
