Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Kerby completed his BA and MD degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He served an internship and residency in surgery, at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he was appointed chief resident. During his surgical residency, he completed a research fellowship and was awarded a PhD degree in biochemistry and molecular genetics from UAB. Dr. Kerby is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium
Description
Dr. Kerby’s clinical interests center on trauma surgery and his current research focuses on out of hospital interventional trials in trauma and cardiac arrest. Other research interests include virtual reality medical simulation for trauma.
