Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Maddox received his bachelor of science in education in exercise and sport science at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., in 2000. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta Ga., where he also completed his internal medicine residency in 2008 and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine in 2011. Dr. Maddox completed his clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship in 2012 at UAB, then returned as Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Georgia from 2012 to 2015. Over the course of his medical training, he has served as a reviewer for several cardiac medical journals, plus remains committed to ongoing cardiovascular electrophysiology and biological clinical trials funded by nationally recognized universities and organizations. One area of research is in emerging technologies for catheter ablation, which gives Dr. Maddox a unique perspective into the advantages and limitations of all aspects of electrophysiology. Currently, Dr. Maddox specializes in electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, ventricular tachycardia, epicardial ablation, device implantation, heart failure and tachycardia.
