Description
Dr. Sims is a board-certified general internist and geriatrician whose research focuses on mobility disorders in older adults, in particular the identification and rehabilitation of impaired older drivers at risk for motor vehicle crashes. He is the Principal Investigator for a Merit Review grant from the VA’s Rehabilitation Research and Development Office, which seeks to test the clinical effectiveness of a speed of visual processing intervention on driving simulator performance. Dr. Sims is a co-investigator on Dr. Richard Allman’s NIA-funded RO-1 study, entitled “Mobility Among Older African Americans and Whites.”
