Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Geldmacher graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester (New York) with his B.A. in Biology and Psychology. He obtained his M.D (with Certificate in Academic Research) from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. He undertook his training in Neurology at Case Western Reserve University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Neurology at the University of Florida. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Neurological Association. He has been listed in The Best Doctors in America and Who's Who in the World.

His research has centered on clinical trials of dementia therapy, and he has been awarded NIH and pharmaceutical industry funding for investigator-initiated clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease Previously his research focused on disorders of complex visual processing associated with aging, brain trauma, stroke, and neurodegenerative disease.
