Course Description This course is a four (4) week elective designed to expose international medical students to clinical simulation throughout the hospital and within the UAB medical school curriculum. International medical students will accompany UAB members of the simulation team on in-situ simulations wherein the manikin is taken into patient care areas to evaluate barriers to providing effective care. Within the procedural lab, students will have the opportunity to experience how CVL placement is taught and reinforced with residents and attendings from departments across the hospital such as internal medicine and emergency medicine. Learning Objectives: The core of this elective course is working in the immersive simulation lab where staff and students from all of the health schools come to practice and learn skills that are key to providing quality patient care.

Requirements Must be an International Visiting Medical Student accepted by the Office of International Medical Education. Does NOT accept VSLO/VSAS students.
Evaluation There is no formal examination; however, attendance and participation are expected.
