Course Description Dermatology and Image Collection is a course designed to give students more exposure to inpatient dermatology and clinical findings. Students will be given a vocera and be on-call during specified hours so that consult teams may page students when interesting clinical findings arise. Students will primarily round and see patients with the dermatology consult team, however, they may be paged by other teams. The students will meet with the various teams to learn about the patient and their physical exam findings before visiting and photographing. This unique experience will give students exposure to several consult teams and allow them to learn more about how physical exam findings may aid in diagnostics. Additionally, images will be used to develop the UAB Digital Dermatology Atlas, an online collection of skin conditions across diverse skin types intended for medical students or physicians in training.
