Course Description Learn the importance of autopsy pathology in a large academic medical center in relation to clinical pathologic correlation, quality improvement and systems based practice. Participate and observe as a team member at the Regional Autopsy Center at UAB. Experience the value of autopsy pathology in medical education. Understand the role of postmortem examination in the greater health care system. Where To Report Anatomic Pathology, Autopsy Section - Course Director’s office - HSB 175H1 - 8:00 AM
Requirements The student is expected to report at 8:00 AM, or earlier, each day and participate in service activities of the day. There is no overnight or weekend call.
Evaluation Students are graded pass/fail based on evaluation of attending physicians. Evaluation is based on the student's participation, willingness to learn, and ability to interact appropriately in the autopsy setting.
