Course Description This Visiting Elective is only for UASOM Students: .LCME Approved Schools: The student must receive approval to do the visiting elective from their Sr. Academic Career Advisor. The Academic Scheduler must receive this approval and have the elective scheduled BEFORE the student reports to the host school for the rotation. The Scheduler will assist the student with UASOM school related information requested by the host school. Review this AAMC website to find links for LCME accredited schools who offer visiting electives. http://services.aamc.org/eec/students/ .International and Non-LCME Schools: The UASOM student should go to https://www.uasom.uab.edu/ElectiveRequest and complete an electronic application. The Academic Scheduler must receive approval from the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education in time to have the elective scheduled BEFORE the student reports to the host school for the rotation.
