Participation in research and learning activities of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Population Science (GIMPOP), Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences, and/or the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education. 2. Clinical/Community Observation: Community and clinical activities will permit the student to participate in shadowing of GIMPOP faculty in clinical situations with the objective of highlighting social and health systems elements that affect the provision of care and/or as community engagement activities that highlight interventions impacting social determinants of health. The particular opportunities available will vary with available faculty. 3. Directed Reading: A curriculum of major articles and chapters related to the core course areas will be provided based on student topic interest 4. Analytic literature review: Students will be expected to conduct a directed review of a topic falling under one of the core topic areas, to be negotiated with the course director.
