Course Description
This course provides students with an opportunity to learn about the foundational concepts of Artificial Intelligence. Students will also learn about different applications of AI in radiology through a virtual lecture format. Additionally, students will be able to shadow UAB radiologists to gain exposure to the field of radiology and see current applications of AI tools in radiologic practice.

Requirements
Students will be required to virtually attend all lectures. In addition, students are required
attend in person shadowing to see AI tools in practice in radiology. Students also must
complete the pre-course assessment, lecture assignments, and post course assessment.
Evaluation
Assessment will be made by attendence to all activities as well as receiving a score of 80% or
higher on all assessments other than the pre-course assessment.
Notes
By the end of this course, students will be able to explain the basic foundational concepts
necessary to understand Artificial Intelligence.
By the end of this course, students will be able to accurately define the differences between
different forms of AI.
By the end of this course, students will be able to identify different AI tools used in radiology.
