Course Description
Students accepted into the Recognition of Discintcion in Global Health can participate in a 4-week international clinical elective in which students will engage in cutting-edge practices under the mentorship of physicians at a UAB International Medical Education partnered institute. This clinical elective offers hands-on experiences.

Requirements
-Students must be accepted into the Recognition of Distinction in Global Health
-Students must be MS1
-Students must remain remain academically eligible for international travel
-Students must participate in the entirety of the clinical elective
-Students must participate in Student Research Day
-Students must provide written student reflection
Evaluation
International mentors will provide a comprehensive evalutation of student participation at the end of the elective
Notes
Students will begin their elective the Monday after their final exam before summer break. Students will work alongside their international mentor and UAB mentor at UAB International Medical Education from Monday - Friday for four weeks either in international rural clinics or international hospitals.
