Course Description During this 8 week period, third year medical students will be provided a foundation of knowledge and skills to care for the health needs of women through exposure to normal and pathologic conditions associated with the female reproductive organs such as menstruation, conception, and pregnancy. Broader concepts of primary care for women with emphasis on preventive care and periodic screening will also be covered. Students will have direct patient contact in clinics, wards, operating room, and labor and delivery suites. In addition, student dedicated lectures, computer-assisted instruction, and case studies will supplement the clinical education.

Evaluation Clinical Component - 75%. NBME Shelf Exam - 25%.
