Course Description This one-week course is open only to MS1 students who are participating in the Recognition of Distinction in Global Health (RDGH), with preference given to students participating in the Dominican Republic elective. This Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) course will give students the opportunity to practice and develop POCUS scan techniques on patients in the emergency room. Students will gain understanding regarding the best techniques and guidelines for utilizing POCUS in a fast-paced clinical setting. During the course, students will be able to obtain and interpret ultrasound scan results and get feedback from residents and faculty. Students will take part in a scan review session, which will test their skills on ultrasound image interpretation to ensure effective learning.

Requirements Students are required to attend all 5 days of the course. Students will be graded on attendance, engagement, dedication to improvement, and professionalism.
Evaluation Students will receive real-time feedback on scan techniques and interpretation. At the end of the week, student scans will be critiqued in a virtual scan review session where they will receive group feedback
