Course Description This course will serve as an in-depth introduction to sexual health. It will focus on skill building as it relates to performing sexual health interviews and physical examination among gender and sexually diverse people. It will also provide an introduction to infections transmitted sexually, their prevention and their treatment. Students will participate in simulation-based skills training, observed practice, and case-based group learning. The course directors will provide direct oversite and individualized feedback to learners during each learning activity. Each learning activity will occur from 8:00-noon.

Evaluation • Case-based learning will have a pre- and post- question set to assess baseline knowledge and uptake of new information.
• In the Simulation with standarized patients, students are observed through video feed or recording by sexual health experts.
- Observers will evaluate student's use of inclusive language, sexual history interviewing, identification of patient's sexual health concerns, goals, and needs.
- After completion of simulations, learners engage in individualized debriefing sessions to identify areas of strength and areas for growth.
- Group debriefing allows learners to understand the experiences and allow for peer-to-peer learning.
• In the Clinical exam skills lab, students are observed during activity and provided with in the moment feedback.
• Student's knowledge on clinical manifestation and management of common STI syndromes will be assessed with the vignette style questions they will answer through the Kaizen platform.
