Course Description Exposure to breadth of Med-Peds Ambulatory career opportunities and Med-Peds faculty practices including combined primary care at UAB Leeds, UAB Gardendale, STEP (Staging Transition for Every Patient) Clinic, Health Department and primary care clinic for young adults with sickle cell disease, spina bidifa and HIV. This rotation will also include structured time for paired coaching and mentorship meetings with Med-Peds core faculty and/or program leadership.
Where To Report UAB Whitaker Clinic, Internal Medicine Room - 8:00 am
Requirements Students will receive the schedule 2 weeks before the start date and will be expected to arrive on time at designated clinics and work on one with assigned attending. They will have the opportunity to see patients, take histories and physicals to present to attendings with formative feedback. There will also be dedicated educational time with lectures on topics and reading related to primary care topics and healthcare transition.
Evaluation You will receive an evaluation at the end of the month.
