Course Description
This course will introduce students to clinical immunology. Fundamental concepts in immunology will be reviewed and described in a clinical context by discussing immune related diseases and the underlying physiologic and immune mechanisms. Both didactic and case-based discussions will be used to discuss topics that will aid in preparation for Step 1. Each class session will include a short immunology review lecture, quiz over main concepts, a short group work session to discuss a case that emphasizes the foundational topics introduced that day, and then 2 additional case studies presented to and discussed with the whole class. Review of the quiz and wrap up questions will conclude each session.
