Course Description This course is designed for current CU2RE students only - MS2s and MS3s. Students will engage with Family Medicine clinical and research faculty and each other in a variety of settings. Four half-days will consist of facilitated group sessions (mini lectures, hands-on group discussions, POCUS mini workshop). Two half-days will be for clinical experiences. And 4 half days will be flexible to work on other projects. Group topics will have four main foci: 1) Scholarship with topics such as How to Design a QI Project; 2) Community such as how to connect with community partners to care for patients (including guest speakers from said organizations); 3) Primary care identity development via two forms of mentorship - Professional: working with a mentor in an underserved clinic for 2 half-days (this is beyond their usual sessions for CU2RE) and Peer: MS2s and MS3s will have designated time to give/receive advice on their CU2RE patient panel. 4) POCUS introduction, brief workshop as POCUS is a keyway to meet the Quadruple Aim especially in under-resourced communities.
