Course Description
Co-Course Directors: Dr. Brook Hubner and Dr. Jeremey Walker. This course is intended for highly motivated second-year students and above who are interested in medical education. The course provides an overview of adult learning processes, cognitive science concepts, the fundamentals of curriculum design, and the development and use of instructional materials. Through the course, students will gain practical experience writing NBME style questions for a basic science topic. This is an in-person course that includes small and large group learning, interactive didactics, self-directed reading, and self-directed application of learning. Emphasis will be placed on students' active participation both in and outside of the classroom with the faculty serving primarily as facilitators, consultants, and discussion leaders. Contact the course director for specific meeting times.
