Course Description This is a course for rising MS4s to prepare them to start their Acting Intern rotations on Pediatrics. We will plan to cover basic role of AI, what to expect during rotations, preparation for asking for letters of rec, preparing CV and personal statements. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1) Understand components of writing PS and CV and begin process of writing both; 2) Learn how to call a consult and demonstrate knowledge through simulation and role playing; 3) Learn acronym for check out and demonstrate ability through simulation and role playing; 4) Verbalize components of cross cover and practice through simulation and role playing.

Requirements Completed pediatric 3rd year rotations, planning to apply to pediatrics for residency.
Evaluation Pass/Fail
-Have a rough draft of Personal Statement and CV by end of week
-Demonstrate main points of how to call a consult
-Know check out acronym and understand important parts of check out
-Demonstrate components of cross cover
Notes General schedule of planned activities:

Day 1- Orientation, Discussion of residency timeline, Discussion of rotations, Q/As with residents.
Day 2- CV and PS building, examples/handout, assignment to begin writing CV & PS.
Day 3- Learning to call consults and check out
Day 4- Learning about cross cove.
Day 5- Simulations.
