Course Description his is a 5 day course , Monday to Friday: Start with a pretest to assess their knowledge in high value care. A.M Sessions- Start at 8.30 or 9 am. Student's will start working on Value based care Modules Designed by Dell medical School and are free, Also available through Online MED ed. Facilitator guides are available. They will get a completion certificate for the course. We will have a brief discussion via zoom around 11 am like a debriefing session for the modules assigned that morning. Lunch 12-1pm P.M sessions- Interactive - Start at 1 pm to 3.30/4pm - Our high value care team will help with these sessions. First session will be Morning report style case presentation incorporating HVC principles on topics like HTN, AMS, Diabetic foot infections, Things we do for no reason ETC. We will then break into small groups via zoom to do some High value care cases form Aquifer and ACP, like Problem based learning sessions Last day - Post test survey
Where To Report Entire course is conducted virtually on ZOOM
Requirements MS- 3 and MS-4 student's will have to log into Dell value based modules every morning and complete them by 11 am for the interactive debriefing session conducted by the Course director and Co director. . Each module takes about an hour to complete
During the afternoon sessions , which are all interactive, students will be participating in small group sessions in line with the objectives mentioned above.
Evaluation Pass/Fail. By administering Pre and Post test survey; Completion certificate from Dell medical school.
Notes LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Introduce the concept of High value care
2. Increase awareness about Health care waste and the causes.
3. Introduce basics of health care delivery , Co payments, Insurances and the role they play in patient care.
4. Early introduction of cost consciousness will teach the learner to recognize HVC as an integral part of patient care.
5. EPA-3- Recommend and Interpret Common diagnostic and screening tests incorporating cost effectiveness, pre/post test probability , EPA-4- To enter and discuss orders and prescriptions
