Course Description
The goal of this course is to give the student more experience in surgery of the vascular system and a good understanding of vascular physiology as it pertains in different regions of the human body. There will be emphasis in such areas as peripheral as well as major vascular disease and fluid dynamics pertaining to diagnostic catheterization and surgical techniques with endo-vascular techniques included. The student will observe and assist the attending physician in the evaluation of the patient. Patients will be seen at Baptist Medical Center South, and the student will make rounds and scrub-in on vascular cases as deemed such by the attending.

Evaluation
Pass/Fail. The evaluation will be based upon the attending physician’s observations of the student’s performance, thought process and interest level. Students will be judged on knowledge, attitude, ability, level of documentation, communication skills, level of progression, attendance and timeliness.
